Greenstein, Schmeenstein

This is Barry Greenstein.
You may be asking why I have placed such a handsome devil on my blog.
Am I trying to molify the countless women that I’ve undoubtedly offended at some point with the rambles that pass as writing here?
No.
The jaded amongst you will consider it a cheap ploy to drive traffic to my site. After all, who doesn’t want to open a Google page and search for Barry Greenstein?
Those amongst you who do not know Barry may be wondering who he is. Of course I know Barry. I’ve shook his hand. I even walked past him in the back halls of the Rio during the WSOP. He didn’t say hi, but that’s just the kind of relationship I have with Barry. We are beyond a first-name basis, we don’t even have to talk to each other.
But I digress. Just who is this man among men, you may be asking yourself. In answering your own question to yourself, you may be saying: “certainly he appears to be a poker player, and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen him on one of them there poker TV shows, so he must be kind of good”.
If you continue to converse with yourself in such a manner, then maybe you should start your own blog. At least that way you can pretend to be speaking to an invisible audience of thousands/hundreds/tens/a bot at Google that couldn’t care less.
And when you are done chatting with yourself let me just point out:
Barry is not just a good poker player, he is a whiggedy-good poker player.
Sir Greenstein, as he is often referred to amongst the cognescenti, is a top-notch professional poker player who donates all of his tournament poker winnings to charity. You might even call him “The Robin Hood of Poker”. I mentioned that term to Mike Sexton once. Next thing you know, it was all I ever heard Mr. Sexton talk about during the early WPT broadcasts when Barry scooped pot after pot into his oh-so-skilled hands.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, as I often say (people have stolen this expression from me too).
So – in honor of the fund raising I am doing for the multiple myeloma and leukemia society (feel free to give if you so desire) I plan to donate all of my tournament winnings between now and October 10th to the Light the Night charity. I pretty much only play blogger tournies, with the occasional low-to-middle 1000+ donkfest thrown in when I can find the time.
So these would include, but are not limited to:
The Monday MATH
The Tuesday Bodog Blogger Event (Bodoglife.com)
