Your heads-up tourney algorithm was programmed by someone who either:

1)  stayed up too late playing poker and was thus very tired

2)  has never played poker in their life

Either way, I’d suggest that you fix it.

What is the problem, you ask?

I understand the need to have a power of 2 (2,4,8,16,32 etc) to make the tourney numbers work right.

So, you either limit sign-up, or you have a certain number of players sit out the first round.

This was done correctly, as our 40-person tourney had a bunch of people sitting out the first round.

What you should *not* do is allow the winners from the first round go up against the people with byes with a 2:1 chip advantage.  That’s right – the chips that the active players won in the first round (T3000) were carried to the second round, but the people with byes were only given first round starting stacks (T1500) for play in the second round. Yes the people in the first round got lucky to not have to play to get to the second round.  (Actually it is kind of boring waiting for the first round to finish.)  But to have to face your opponent starting with a half-stack chip disadvantage?

Stu-pid.

For the record, my opponent was able to call a sizeable (to me – not so much to him) raise I made while he was holding 10-8.  Offsuit.  I had A-Q.  Flop came down 10-Q-8.

Chips go in, no help on the turn and river.  Buh-bye me.

Thanks for burning your $26 at Full Tilt Poker.

I can take coolers, I can take bad beats.  What I can’t take is a site that is not functioning correctly.

Please fix this.
